There are several airport options when traveling to Charlottesville. The closest airport is Charlottesville-Albermarle Airport (CHO). However, this is a small regional airport (midwest friends, there are direct flights on United from O'Hare).
We also recommend flying into Washington - National (DCA) or Washington - Dulles (IAD). It is about a 2 hour drive from either of these airports. We would advise against flying into Washington - Baltimore (BWI) as depending on traffic can add about 1-2 more hours to the trip.
